Kitui's Street Childrens Programme

| The Diocese of Kitui has
established the St John Eudes Rehabilitation Centre for
Street Children in Kitui town. So far, over 300 children
have passed through this programme with a very high success
rate. |

Kitui's Street Children
The St John Eudes Rehabilitation Centre provides refuge
and accommodation for street children. This video gives an
insight into the centre and it's work

While
the St John Eudes Centre provides a wonderful service for
the children, the facilities are very limited. I hope that
through your sponsorship we will be able to redecorate some
of the rooms and provide additional bedding and furniture,
and recreational facilities for the children.

The Rehabilitation Centre provides refuge
and accommodation for street children. Coming from various backgrounds and
from places as diverse as Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, Nairobi, and various
parts of Kitui or Mwingi districts, these children have in many cases lost
parents or close relatives due to AIDS. |
| All to often these
children find themselves physically or sexually abused, or
forced into prostitution in order to survive. |
The centre currently has capacity for 32
children, and there is an urgent need for additional accommodation and
