This is a New Sub surface dam and will
help trap a
lot of water for both domestic use and animals especially
during the dry period. Ikutha is an exceptionally dry area.

Most of the members of the Wavenya
Niwatiwa group
are involved in Subsistence farming, bee keeping, Charcoal
burning &
keep few livestock.

Benefits
On
completion, this project will provide the following
benefits for the community:

Walking
distance to water source will be reduced. Mothers will have
time to attend to young children. More time will be spared
for Farming, soil conservation, and building schools.
School going children will have more time in classes. Group
members will have cleaner water than before.
Domestic
animals will have water near by.
