Project Name

Makolongo sub-surface dam( Phase lifting)

Location:

Mbitini which is 45 km South from Kitui town

Description:

Increasing the height of the dam wall for this project will increase the water storage  to cope with the increasing water demand for the this group.

This Project has been proposed by the Ngunga Community Group

Most of the members of the Ngunga  group are involved in Peasant farming, Bee keeping and charcoal burning

Benefits

On completion, this project will provide the following benefits for the community:

Walking distance to water source will be reduced, and so Mothers will have time to attend to young children, and more time will be available for Farming, soil conservation, and building schools School going children will have more time for their studies. Group members will have more plentiful, and cleaner, water than before.

Comments

This is a good site and needs to be worked on before the November rains.
