Friends of Kitui works with Trocaire specifically for the people of Kitui. Trócaire is the official overseas development agency of the Catholic Church in Ireland. It was set up in 1973 with  a dual mandate: to support long-term development projects overseas and to provide relief during emergencies; and at home to inform the Irish public about the root causes of poverty and injustice and mobilise the public to bring about global change.

Makayauni School Building Fund   Construction is now completed, but we still need €10,000 for furniture and teaching aids. All donations, however small, are welcome
To fund the education of children orphaned by AIDS   €400 will provide tuition, accommodation, clothing and other expenses for one year
To fund the income generating projects for the empowerment of women in Kitui   €40 will purchase a beehive, or provide certified drought resistant seed, or  a basic starter kit for raising chickens.

Migwani Special Needs Unit     To improve facilities for special needs children at Migwani AIC Primary School  

St Michael’s School Building fund

   Construction of the 480-student school is almost complete: we still need €35,000 (Dec 2011) to clear debts and complete
